Community Pilot:  Glenview, IL

Skin of Steel is based on the North Shore of Chicago in the metropolitan suburb of Glenview, Illinois. This community consistently supports residents who battle Melanoma.  Given the dedication of our home base, Skin of Steel believes it is a prime location to pilot awareness and outreach programs focused on skin cancer prevention and early detection.  Skin of Steel is inspiring Glenview to develop its own policies and programs that can stand the test of time and provide a model for other municipalities in the Midwest as well as the nation.  To that end, Skin of Steel held a Brainstorm on Skin Cancer Prevention that led to the formation of the Glenview Platform Committee, which is developing its "Live Sun Smart & Skin Safe Campaign.
